Pilgrammed Beginner Guide (July 2026)
A first-session route for combat, stats, gear, bosses, movement, and the transition into Soul Levels.
Learn the combat timing before spending heavily. Choose one reachable weapon and its matching stat, clear the bosses on your current route, then use movement quests and Soul Levels to open the rest of the game.
Requirements and checks
- ◆Finish the tutorial and read the in-game help menu.
- ◆Keep at least one weapon you can use consistently.
- ◆Spend around a real route instead of a late-game build screenshot.
- ◆Check guide dates because Wind changed progression and movement.
Step-by-step
- 1Start here
Learn dodge, parry, and spacing
Pilgrammed punishes rushed attacks. Use early enemies to learn when to step away, when to parry, and how long your weapon leaves you committed.
- 2Route
Use Vermeil Village as your base
Talk to NPCs, follow visible quests, and learn how the Prairie, Forest, and nearby routes connect before pushing into harder regions.
- 3Build
Match one stat to one obtainable weapon
Strength fits melee damage, Dexterity supports ranged damage and swing speed, and Intellect supports magic damage and mana. A coherent early setup is easier to improve than points spread across every option.
- 4Bosses
Clear bosses for progress, not just drops
Boss fights teach the timing the rest of the game expects. Use the boss hub to find the region, prepare for its main mechanic, and note what stopped the last attempt.
- 5Movement
Complete permanent movement quests
Wind replaced several accessory-based movement upgrades with permanent quest rewards. Check the live quest text because route details can change between updates.
- 6Soul Levels
Turn boss rewards into Soul Levels
Each Soul Level costs five Soul Shards or one Soul Heart. Use the calculator before farming so you know how many boss rewards remain.
Avoid wasting the run
- — Treating a build as a locked class.
- — Spending heavily on a weapon before trying its attack timing.
- — Following a pre-Wind leveling guide without checking the date.
- — Skipping movement quests and then struggling with later routes.
Frequently asked questions
What should a Pilgrammed beginner do first?
Finish the tutorial, learn dodge and parry timing, then use Vermeil Village and nearby quests to choose your first reachable weapon path.
Does Pilgrammed have classes?
No. Your stats, weapon, armor, accessories, and techniques create the build. You can change direction as you find better gear.
Which stats should a beginner use?
Strength supports melee, Dexterity supports ranged damage and swing speed, and Intellect supports magic damage and mana. Pick the stat that matches a weapon you can actually obtain.
When do Soul Levels start?
Bosses provide Soul Shards or Soul Hearts. Five shards or one heart buy one Soul Level; the current public cap is 17.
